Description
This is the Woodland Viaduct, an open-spandrel concrete arch bridge
rehabilitated in 1995 that carries the drive over the Bronx River
and railroad tracks near Mile Marker 10. It was built on a tight
curve with almost a 45∞ angle at each end. This configuration
was inconvenient in the days of early automobile travel and has
become more problematic as traffic speeds have increased. Location
